My name is Alice Tompkins and live in Ruidoso, New Mexico. We will be

visiting London arriving on March 11, 2006. I have ancestors buried

at the church in Methley. We are interested in visiting Methley. I

understand it is about 193 mile from London. Is there transportation

from the train station to Methley and surrounding areas? My ancestors

buried at the church are Charles Patrick died 1867, I believe. Any

information you could give me would be greatly appreciated. I just

happened on to your website, don't know if I'm in the right place or

not.

I am interested in a photograph I found on your site of Harriet Hartshorne and William Wright - 1910.

It appears that you don't know the location etc but are you able to confirm that this photograph was taken in England or could it be from any country?

I would appreciate any help you can give.

Many thanks,

Brenda Wilson

Mr. Waite,

I recently visited your community webrings website as i am researching for a

project entitled

"How much can we know about settlement and land use in the area around the

village of Methley prior to 1850?"

At the moment i am concentrating on prehistoric Methley, particularly in the

Iron Age. Therefore i would be very grateful if you would be able to pass on

any information that you may know about this topic or if you would be able

to give me any links to other sites where i could find out more information.

Thankyou

Hello!

I wonder if you can please help me to find out who I would need to speak to about the possibility of filming at Methley Church... I work for the South Bank Show, ITV's long-running arts documentary series, and we are currently making a programme about the playwright (and Leeds-born) Alan Bennett. He has suggested Methley Church as a possible location for some of our filming, and so I'm getting in touch in order to find out who I would need to speak to in order to discuss this possibility.

I'd be very grateful for any information you can provide with me.

Many thanks for your help, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Claire Holland
